Marty is originally from Dayton, Ohio, but also spent time in Pennsylvania and North Carolina before finding his home in South Carolina where tea is sweet and accents are sweeter. Marty married one of these accents; her name is Ashley. They have two sons, Maddox and Charlie, and a dog named Bingo. 

Marty graduated from North Greenville University with a B.S. in Psychology and Columbia International University with a M.A. in Counseling and is licensed as a Professional Counselor, Addictions Counselor, and Clinical Supervisor. Marty now works at a private counseling practice while continuing to teach and speak on the side. 

In his free time, Marty enjoys co-hosting the Tattoos & Jesus Podcast where he tries to bring faith and work experiences together with a dash of the ridiculous. 

Marty is passionate about good stories, good food, creating understanding, and living out his faith in the messiness of life.
